GUIDANCE FOR MEMBERS
Your personal security is important to us. Before arranging to
meet potential dancing partners we strongly advise you take heed of the
following:

Never reveal your home address or home telephone number until you feel
confident that you have built a trusting relationship.
- We recommend you
speak to the person before meeting and strongly advise you use a cell 'phone to
enhance your security. Telephone conversations can give you confidence about
whether you wish to proceed and to provide further information.
- Request a
photograph. If after some initial communication the person is unwilling to
provide this then you may be right to be suspicious about their intent.
- Make
one of your first meetings in a public place at a reputable venue, preferably a
dancing venue such as a club or class.
- Always tell someone you trust where
you are going and when you will return.
- Be clear about the purpose of your
meeting and what you expect. Expect the same information from your dancing
partners. If they are genuine they will supply the information readily.
- If
you do not need to meet up immediately we recommend that you exchange
information over a period of time before proceeding with voice contact and a
meeting.
- Dancing Partners Limited does not check the background of
individuals registered as members on its site; therefore we recommend you
follow the security procedures listed above.
- Should you experience a
persistent and unwelcome and uninvited contact from any member you can block
them from any further contact. This is easily done using the web site.
- The
only information provided for members search purposes is your first name, type
of dance(s) you prefer, your geographic location by country, county or region
and any text you input.
- You may use an alias and we recommend that your
personal message does not reveal your address or any information, which might
prematurely reveal your identity.
- The method of making contact is secure and
anonymous xx until you wish to reveal more about yourself. In the first
instance you will be informed of individuals who want to contact you. If you
are a fully paid up member you will be able to know your first name or alias,
preferred dance type and location by region or country/county and any text they
have provided.
- When you respond, the receiving member will be provided with
the same information. You may exchange messages without revealing your e-mail
address and only when you are comfortable release further personal information
about yourself.
- Most individuals are genuine however watch for the following
warning signs:

Incomplete and vague information
- Unwillingness to share information
- Unwilling
to provide a photograph
- Pressure from other to reveal information about
yourself
- Individuals who make you feel guilty or inadequate by the use of
language
Trust your own instincts and use common sense.
CODE OF CONDUCT
All members are required to comply with this Code of Conduct: -

to comply at all times with Dance Partners Ltd. policies
- to supply only
accurate and truthful information
- not to use the site for any other reason
than to search for a dance partners
- to behave at all times in a responsible
manner consistent with that of a good, law abiding citizen
- not to use the
site for illegal purposes
- not to use the site to deceive
- not to us the
site for personal or commercial reasons other than that for which the service
is intended
- to use language which is respectful
- not to use offensive
terms or language or to use language intended to demean others
- to show
respect for individual differences
- not to use the site to exploit others or to
solicit information other than for the purpose of the dancing partner contacts
