DANCE TYPES
Choose a dance category. All
dance is a derivation - building and mixing on previous dance history,
combining cultures and evolving through time. Choose the style you prefer but
don't discard others - when you get the bug, like history, one thing leads to
another. Remember, you're looking for a partner - if you want dance history try

Jazz/Rock
and Roll - Jive, hip-hop and swing .
The word Jazz is derived from a double entendre for social
intercourse! Popularly associated with America this form of dancing is fun,
fast and full of rhythm. One o'clock, two o'clock, three o'clock rock - from
Benny Goodman to Elvis Presley. Popularised by American soldiers in the second
World War, rock music and the dancing which goes with it is at the heart of
most modern music as we know it today.

to be an expert just 'take your partner by the hand, swirl her round and
'do-si-do'!
